Experiences

Collecting experiences has become the main way in which I seek to live, not exist.

Whether that’s simply trying a new food – or something bigger, like watching the Northern lights in Norway or hot air ballooning over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia – collecting experiences makes me feel truly alive!

Possessions can be lost, but our memories are forever.

And experiences are generally more fulfilling than objects, providing happiness and true wealth.

Collecting experiences has also helped me to grow, as sometimes I choose experiences that are challenging (on purpose!). Volunteering in Kenya is an example of this, but any experience, no matter how small, that challenges us can facilitate growth.

And having new experiences to look forward to has helped me get through even my darkest mental health days.

If you’re not already collecting experiences, I dare you to try it! And, in the meantime, here’s some inspo:

I am an experiential traveller, meaning I seek out experiences, choose adventure over comfort and aim to understand a new culture and its people by living as much like a local as I can. I have been documenting some of my travels so that you can share them too!

And as I am a collector of experiences when I’m home too, I’ll be reviewing some of them.
